Balázs Cserta  Biography

TENOR SAXOPHONE, FLUTE, CLARINET, BASS CLARINET

He started playing the saxophone as Ferenc Muck’s pupil in 1997. He graduated from the Academy of Music with a major in jazz saxophone, under the instruction of Mihály Borbély and István Elek. He also graduated from the folk wind instruments faculty as Attila Csávás’s pupil. He lets his talent shine in MAO too: he uses the saxophone in the most impossible ways and creates new sounds with a variety of ethnic instruments. He plays in several formations and plays a wide variety of genres. In 2011, he was awarded the Artisjus Prize for his work in folk music. Alongside performing, he also teaches music in several institutions.
