A Liszt-, és Artisjus-díjas Fekete-Kovács Kornél és zenekara, a Modern Art Orchestra 2023-ban két alkalommal ad koncertet a Harcsa Veronika Udvarban, a Művészetek Völgyében.
A MAO két nagyzenekari koncertjén - július 26-27-én - ezúttal a művészetközi kapcsolódásokra helyezi a hangsúlyt. Az első napon a filmművészeté lesz a főszerep, másnap a versek világába kalauzol a 19 fős bigband.
Modern Art Orchestra - Opèra Cinèmatique
A filmtörténet első harminc évében, amikor a filmek még hang nélkül peregtek a mozikban, Magyarországon is mintegy hatszáz játékfilm készült – köztük a világhírű Korda Sándor és Kertész Mihály alkotásai –, ám ezekből alig néhány tíz maradt fenn. A nemzetközileg is elismert, virágzó magyar némafilmgyártás túlélőit keresi és gyűjti egybe a Nemzeti Filmintézet archívuma, amelynek egyre gyarapodó anyaga a magyar kortárs zene jeles képviselőit is megihlette. Az Opéra Cinématique műsorban a némafilmek a Fekete-Kovács Kornél művészeti vezetése alatt álló Modern Art Orchestra szólista-zeneszerzőinek kompozícióival fonódnak össze. A műsorban nemcsak játékfilmrészletek, hanem a 20. század első felének dokumentált életképei is megelevenednek majd.

In the first thirty years of film history, when films were still running in cinemas without sound, about 600 feature films were made in Hungary, including the world-famous works of Sándor Korda and Mihály Kertész, but only a couple of these have survived. The survivors of the internationally acclaimed, flourishing Hungarian silent film industry are sought and collected by the National Film Institute's archive, whose ever-growing collection has inspired prominent representatives of Hungarian contemporary music. In the Opéra Cinématique repertoire, the silent film excerpts are interwoven with compositions by soloist-composers of the Modern Art Orchestra, under the artistic direction of Kornél Fekete-Kovács. The programme will include not only feature film extracts but also documented real-life scenes from the first half of the 20th century.
